We could easily be a few points more or a few points less than where we are. Its fine margins as almost all games are one goal difference. Lets hope we win the next one.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
We're very quick to forget where we came from less than 2 years ago. We were a fucking woeful football team and an embarrassment of a club in general. Fans in-fighting and a team that were predominately fucking shit.

We've got injuries in key areas, they need addressing (we all know that). Moyes has done an incredible job of getting our club stablaised and into a position where we would have all dreamed about just 20 months ago.

The problems will get addressed (gradually, we're not money bags Newcastle) and we will continue to get better.

Stop fucking moaning about one bad game and remember where we have only recently come from.

daveyg, you seem to be easily triggered and also suffering from gross exaggeration syndrome.

For example what is this Moyes downfall you refer to?

We lost that game because we defended woefully, got what we deserved. No top six team should concede three goals at home but Moyes and us know what the answer is so let’s hope it gets addressed.

Southwoodhammer.
I agree with much of what you have said.
But Moyes becomes part of his own downfall. He goes to virtually every U23's game. Even when Masuaku and Yarmolenko played for them they were the least ineffective ordinary players. Outshon by all. Longelo a better defender and going forward more impressive . Okoflex a better option than both M n Y.
M n Y both played in at least a couple of U23 games.
Alese has impressed through out the season plus Baptiste too.
Against Zagreb all the youngsters all impressed. The worst players were the senior lot. How Moyes and his team can't see this is beyond me send many others.
Moyes has had many opportunities to play them but doesn't. Instead he thinks Masuaku is a world beater because he scored the flukiest goal ever. Time and time again he's had the opportunity to try something different. It's hair pulling out frustrating crap. Insane.
Yes Moyes has done great but a huge opportunity wasted. Rice won't put up with this much longer and neither will Bowen, who Moyes has extraordinary blamed for missing that opportunity at the end. Might as well put Bowen in a taxi to Anfield.

Fulham? Maybe. Not really.

Burnley, Southampton, Swansea, Newcastle come to mind. All in the last 10 years. Wolves had a terrible start as well but they've brought in a couple of players and turned it around

Who has that happened to?

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
Keep in mind that most of the new teams who enter the europa league end up in relegation scrap the season after. We've only brought in 2 players that have been somewhat useful to us since the end of the last season and still, right now, I think we have the same amount points as last season after 22 games. It's very unrealistic to expect this team to be consistent considering we have squad depth of a relegation battling team.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
Fucking hell, Roeder, how pathetic is that. Glad I got to you though, not that i even said that anyway. But yea, Diop, Dawson and Coufal all played like Sunday morning players just 'coz Soucek didn't play. If only it was that simple. You're a fucking genius and wasted on here, fella. Give Moysie a call.

White Horse,disagree.
Imagine your in the dugout and you've 3 Kids with no first team experience,an Injury waiting to happen Fredericks,
Kral who is Like a Leper to Moyes??
Masuaku and Yamo who couldn't run 100metres without Oxygen and the spare Goalie.
Yes, he could e put Johnson in at LB and moved Cressie foward but Cressie was knackered after wednesday.
So what would you do??
Moyes must take credit for over acheiving and the Board must look hard and resolve this issue in the next 14 days.
All is not lost.....YET

HIYA MANUEL
Have you reconsidered your view of a couple of weeks back that SOUCEK just 'runs around' and is pretty pointless.
Think we've seen in the last couple of games and particularly yesterday what a crucial role he plays in protecting Diop & Dawson from being raped as they were.
Coufal doesnt seem the same without his MATE in the team either.

Can't get him and ZOUMA back quick enough.

Rossal 9:55 Mon Jan 17
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
Awful performance from all of them aside from Rice. Not seen us pass the ball that bad in a long time, lost count the amount of times we jut passed the ball straight to one of them. Diop and Dawson were by far the worst culprits.....both of them were so bad on the ball and the team and especially Fab kept passing it to them.

2nd and 3rd goal seemed very soft to give away, the subs were shit and yet again its another chance missed to put some pressure on 4th spot.

Board have to sign 2 or 3 now, i think the subs were Moyes sending a message to the board. Bit ridiculous we're half way through the window now and doesnt seem like we're close to anyone. Where is GSB ambition???

Coufal turning away from not wanting to get a ball in his face to stop the goal.

Going soft the old boy is .

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
Antonio and Coufal had poor performances alongside Diop and Coufal I think played Harrison on for one of their goals by not getting out alongside the rest of the defence. He stepped back IIRC? Cresswell was off the pace too perhaps as expected since he tried to play 2 games in 4 days having just returned. Moyes should probably have started with Johnson but that’s hindsight. But I have always thought Johnson is the best defensive full back we have. His issue is going forward which he needs to work on as he develops.

Watching highlights you could see we were struggling with the transition/ countering by Leeds in midfield and with their pressing which they are renowned for. The pressing all over the pitch is what won them the game really. That’s what Moyes was trying to say about playing 3 games in a week and 2 against the which means 2 games where you have to be super fit and full of energy to compete even if you have the better team on paper..

Got to pray we can get a striker, left sided CB, left back and now another central midfielder as Kral looks to be a write off based on the minutes he has had?

Mex Martillo 7:59 Mon Jan 17
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
Defense let us down, no Soucek added to the CBs, Leeds movement was too much for them.
Thought our attack was ok, we looked good going forward. Good game, exciting stuff, disappointing result.
Need to beat Man U now, their misfiring a bit, I fancy us to do them.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
I have noticed Moyes seems to be philosophical and is more readily accepting defeats now than he was before, and seems to be feeling a bit sorry for himself? Don't know if you can read anything into that? Bottom line is Leeds had more out than we did, and like Southampton never score 3 goals, and certainly not away from home. It's like we've become a bit of a charity outfit again for struggling sides. We have no excuses. They even had to sling on 2 teenagers after 20 mins, for crying out loud.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Leeds - Official Match Thread
The Norwich game would be winnable even with Okoflex, Kral, Alese, Yarmolenko and Ashby in the lineup.
But Moyes can't help himself, depletion is the result.
He can't complain, he makes the selection but he is not very good at it.
Subs during the Leeds game was bizarre.

Igood riddance if he wanted to join Everton

That was a fucking disgrace.
Goodbye CL - maybe chumps league.
The jock hasn’t got a clue when it comes to substitutions. And players just did not step up
- this was a key moment in the grand scheme of things and the season. What a bunch of failures.
